Fall at Green Acres.......

It's been a another great fall at Green Acres Sportsman's Club:
The membership drive has been a resounding success, garnering 15 new members.
Those participating in the September 1 dove hunt experienced two gourmet meals with most limiting out on Doves. The day held perfect weather, not too hot, and the birds were plentiful, although a bit down from last year.
Dan attended the fall Grand Hunting Retriever Championships where his and Cindy's dog Heather passed this most difficult of tests for the second time as she competes toward the Title of "Grand Hunting Retriever Champion". Dan entered several other young dogs who did very well for their first time in such a stiff competition and with that experience under their belts will be much more prepared for their next competetion.
Members have been taking advantage of the variety of hunting experiences available at the club, including several large duck hunts, driven pheasant hunts and a Member's Meat hunting competition. They have trudged through the property with their faithful hunting dogs in good weather and bad, enjoying their search for the wily pheasant, the holed up quail, the running chuckkar and the beautiful, although sometimes rare Hungarian. Afterwards, back in the clubhouse, a bit tired, but with birds in hand, they have taken the time to dine on Cindy's delicious pheasant chilli, pheasant sloopy Joes or anything from the regular menu - of steak, chicken, Tilapia or hamburger sandwiches along with trimmings.
